Over a time period of about 120 years steel pens have been manufactured in many countries of the world. Every country and every manufacturer created their own individual pens to distinguish themselfs from their competitors and to win new customers.
Of course some manufacturers specialised in copying other manufacturers popular pens, usually in poorer quality. This practice has persisted until today ....
It is estimated that in the course of the 19th and 20th centuries, well over ten thousand different varieties of steel pens were created. In the Steel Pen Museum you can admire at least a few thousand of them.
